Annie & Oscar dusted off their best festival hats once again to return to SUKI roots with a Tea Tent at Dalriada Festival in the grounds of Glenarm Castle over the weekend - You might not know, but this is actually how SUKI began - touring music festivals like Electric Picnic and Dalriada Festival many years ago, offering festival goers TEA and TOAST! We’ll not dig out the old, old pics!!
This time was a little different as there was a dedicated SUKI Tea Tent with entertainment all day long, with guests popping in throughout the day for a tea cocktail and masterclasses.
We were joined by many fab other locals – with Afternoon Tea being served by The Art House Tea Emporium music by the Rick Shaw Trio, The Victory Rollers and Clocked Out Music. We also roped in a few special guests to join us on stage to help perform our masterclasses. Lauren McMullan, the Irish Brand ambassador for Bushmills Irish Whiskey and Soda, the co-founder of the Cocktail Keg Company both joined us on stage to talk about the synergy of tea blending and tasting and why tea is being used as an ingredient more and more, SUKI is being used as a cocktail base to bring complexity and depth to the wide range of readymade cocktails that the CKC has released over the last 2 years.
An exciting line up for any tea enthusiast! We also had a some of our NI Grown Tea bushes with us – we have donated 10 of these tea bushes to the head gardener so we can’t wait to see them planted and hopefully flourish in the Castle grounds! These have been lovingly planted and cared for in our Portaferry Tea Garden – you can actually spend the night right beside our Tea gardens – check out The Hideaway Portaferry for a fab staycation!
Overall a roaring success and very enjoyable weekend, thank you to Glenarm Castle staff and to Ground Espresso Bars and of course everyone who popped by to see us!
