About this Product

Forget the Builders Brew, speciality tea can be appreciated in the same way in which a fine wine can, and if you like the sound of becoming a tea connoisseur, look no further than Suki Tea’s wonderfully elegant First Flush Darjeeling.

Suki Tea First Flush Spring '15 Darjeeling is the best of the best, picked from the Bannockburn garden estate, situated 6000feet high in the foothills of the Himalayas with Everest in view. The Bannockburn garden is one of the oldest of the 87 estates and considered to be one of the best kept in Darjeeling. When visiting the esteemed estate recently, two trees were planted in the estate manager’s garden in honour of Oscar and Annie’s visit and the continued trade and support from Suki Tea.

When is First Flush Darjeeling picked?

This small lot of just 19kilos was expertly handpicked at the very beginning of First Flush season (when the bud and first two leaves are ready to pick) in late March being only the fifth invoiced lot to leave the estate. Each leaf was delicately plucked from Bannockburn’s old traditional china bushes with very little process which delivers a beautifully floral and fragrant bright liquor with a lively character.

What is First Flush Darjeeling?

Tea flush refers to the growing seasons in Darjeeling. First Flush teas are plucked mid-March to May, these fresh buds deceptively deliver a powerful and stimulating infusion from a light coloured cup. Commonly First Flush is the most expensive flush, not only because of its short season that sees high demand vs low supply, but also due to its uniquely bright and lively liquor. An enchanting afternoon tea.
