About this Product
First Flush Darjeeling is the Champagne of teas and our select Ging Tea Garden First Flush is an absolute delight.
Hand-picked in March, 2022 just after winter's passing in the Himalayas, 1st Flush Darjeelings are thought to be more Oolong-like in their delicate flavours as a lightly-oxidised black tea. Ging Tea Garden is one of the oldest and most renowned in the Darjeeling Hills and this year's 1st Flush is simply a treasure of a tea, wonderfully fresh, smooth and tropically fruity. Ging is a Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance certified garden and all its teas are produced under Organic cultivation.
What is First Flush Darjeeling? Tea flush refers to the growing seasons in Darjeeling. First Flush teas are plucked mid-March to May, these fresh buds deceptively deliver a powerful and stimulating infusion from a light coloured cup. Commonly First Flush is the most expensive flush, not only because of its short season that sees high demand vs low supply, but also due to its uniquely bright and lively liquor. An enchanting afternoon tea.
