TIME TO REFLECT

Reflections 2018 Suki Tea

2018 was an incredibly busy year for us at Suki Tea as we take time to reflect....we also begin to look forward to finding out what 2019 has in store for us!

We are always looking ahead; assessing & gauging what the next challenges might be, what trends are about to break and making sure as a business we are in the right place at the right time. So far so good (for the most!)

However today, at Suki we take time to Reflect, to look back on 2018. It is important, rewarding and such a simple thing to do, to stop, take stock and look back. So ... as we approach 2019 where we will soon see our 14th Birthday it’s time to look back on a single year and celebrate such great achievements.

First and foremost...

An enormously grateful thank you to all of our staff, customers, partners and supporters. Who without, we wouldn’t have the purpose to do what we do (and love) so much.

A new united team spirit is fuelling the growth in all areas of Suki. Work culture & communication sessions throughout the year have helped bring everyone closer together.... As a team, we have revisited all that we stand for in a new teenage Suki Manifesto – core to being who we are and moving us forward:

_ not settling for less

_ uniting tea lovers everywhere

_ following adventures in creativity

_ being more than just a stamp

"Oscar and I are very lucky to have surrounded ourselves with inspirational colleagues who challenge us and make us so very proud. Bring on the challenges for 2019!"

We are as serious about our responsibility to our product quality and the planet as we are to our people. That’s why we will continue to support and promote Fairtrade, Organic and Rainforest Alliance products and hold ourselves up to the high standards of independent certification.

We worked hard on developing the very best and tailored materials for our accredited Speciality Tea Training course designed for the Foodservice sector, officially launching in 2019.

Great Taste remains core to our product – Alex and Annie were invited to judge in the Great Taste Awards earlier this year with the wonderful guys at Guild of Fine Food.

We are also very proud to have scooped the much-coveted Blas na hEireann Irish Food Awards for our wonderful Irish Breakfast Tea - Belfast Brew in 2018.

When we’re not selling tea, our evening / weekend jobs begin; tea farmers! Under the expert direction of Nigel Melican, we have 1000s of young tea plants flourishing well at our Portaferry Tea Garden. 2019 will see the exciting new stage of development when we plant out the garden.

Exhibitions and shows of course featured greatly in 2018 as with every year we do these as an excuse to invite customers to come and see what’s new and exciting as well as meeting a few new faces. This year we can't wait to show you what we have planned for London Coffee Festival!! BRAND new things are coming! (EEEKKK!)

Alex and Annie are kicking off 2019 with a tea adventure to Sri Lanka in search of (yet more) exquisite teas and complimentary blends - we can't wait to try these!!

We've spent a lot of time researching and planning for what promises to be a very exciting 2019 locally and internationally for Suki Tea. Stayed tuned for all the news as well as a few BIG, (very exciting) announcements, but for now HAPPY NEW YEAR!
