HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Looking back at 2024, its been an incredible year of milestones and celebrations as SUKI Tea soon approaches 20 years of making damn fine tea.

From collaborating with Beer52.com | B-Corp, The Exploding Bakery Limited , and White's Oats to crafting the Hillsborough Blend for Hillsborough Castle, CH&CO Compass Group UK & Ireland this year has been a celebration of creativity and connection. Seeing our Bramble Tea win the Blas na hÉireann Award and launching our trade website SUKI Tea Makers have been standout moments.

 We proudly continue to work on the Environmental Leadership Team, reducing plastic waste by 300kg annually through the Responsible Plastic Management (RPM) Program CIC initiative. Hosting visits from Minister Anderson, the u3a UK (The Third Age Trust) team, and running tea blending masterclasses for 120 participants showcased our commitment to sustainability, education, and innovation.Our partnerships flourished, working with Matthew Algie, DGB, JAVA Coffee Company , Taf Coffee, Bell Lane Coffee Ltd and Bailies Coffee Roasters Coffee to bring SUKI to more cafés and retailers. We also advanced the tea industry through work with the European Speciality Tea Association (European Tea Society) Specialty Tea Association (ESTA) and a memorable trip with National Trust for Scotland Trust Scotland to Japan with Isitan, Yumeori and Three Tiers. And let's not forget the Holywood Blend for Shane Todd & One L productions.Thanks to everyone who visited, especially Mim!

Personally, I began the year recovering from a nasty fall which was a humbling experience that put the important things into perspective. It reminded me of the resilience required not only in business but life in general and once back in action, I carried that mindset throughout the year. One of the highlights was having the honour of judging at Pitch Perfect, supporting local entrepreneurs and witnessing their determination and creativity first hand.

 As a team, we celebrated some incredible milestones, from welcoming new babies and moving into new homes to marking special birthdays. These moments underscored the strength and connection of the SUKI family. We’ve also settled into our new Tea Factory, an amazing space that will see us for many years to come . . . admittedly, there are still a few boxes left to unpack!

Through it all, this year has been a reminder of the importance of adaptability, gratitude to the SUKI team and their dedication and hard work, and finding reward in progress, both big and small.
